About the Publication

Granite & Ink is a student-led SNHU literary publication built around a simple principle: For Students, By Students. Its purpose is to give members real-world educational experience that helps writers prepare for creative careers while strengthening social connections across the student writing community.

The organization supports that mission through workshops and seminars focused on the publishing industry, guidance on pitching work to literary agents, and connections between authors and beta readers who can help refine work before submission.

The journal itself gives students direct experience with the full publication process: submitting work, moving through editorial review, and ultimately seeing their writing appear in a finished publication.

A.P. DeVaney's Role

A.P. DeVaney served as Managing Editor for Granite & Ink. After the publication's initial designer stepped away, he also took responsibility for the journal's layout and graphic design. The cover features one of his original photographs, extending his contribution from editorial work into the publication's visual presentation.
